New-generation E-government portal Hukoomi 3 launched

Qatar has always prided itself on being an technology-friendly nation. The country, in its push to make paperwork at the government level obsolete, launched its newest initiative — Hukoomi 3

The new generation E-government portal, which features even more government services for the public from different ministries and state entities, was launched at QITCOM 2017, reported The Peninsula.

“Hukoomi 3 aims to abolish paperwork in processing daily transactions.

Through the new portal, users can access their personal data such as commercial registry, property details, health card, electricity and water bills,” said Tareq Al Emadi, Head of E-government portal at the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

“Passport services, insurance and driving license renewal will be added to Hukoomi 3 in the near future,” added the top official.

Users will be able to process 650 different transactions from home, through Hukoomi 3, without being present at a government facility. In the portal’s earlier version, only around 150 such services could be accessed.

The E-government portal had carried out an extensive electronic and phone survey to learn about the needs of users before upgrading Hukoomi 2 and launching Hukoomi 3, reported Qatar News Agency.

A foreign investor, who is keen to make investments in Qatar, can make use of extensive investment data — compiled by the Ministry of Finance, Qatar Central Bank, Qatar Exchange and other government entities — available on the portal.

Hukoomi 3 is accessible as an application on all mobile phones as well as tablets and desktops.[QatarLiving]
